Carriage House Inn B&B Retreat- Located just a few minutes from the US-27 interstate, Harrison is the Gateway to Northern Michigan. Situated between Mt. Pleasant & Houghton Lake, the area offers the wooded “Up-North” ambiance within just a few hours driving time from most of the Michigan metropolitan areas.   The original construction began in 1948, with subsequent additions in 1964. In 1991, the carriage house & main house were converted into a 10 room B&B. At that time, a 800’ keeper’s residence was also constructed. These improvements yielded over 8,500’ of net rentable area , including meeting and retreat space. The entire property consists of 127 acres. The B&B portion overlooks Lake Budd. The front 30 acres have an estimated 10,000 mature pines which provide wonderful protection for a variety of wildlife. The back hardwood acreage actually borders route US 27 and provides four miles of cross-country ski and hiking trails.

Each of the 10 guestrooms has at least a queen-size bed, A/C, TV-VCR with cable, in-room coffee, refrigerator, telephone, and internet connection. Two of the smaller dormer rooms share a bath; the other rooms have private baths. Six of the rooms offer 2 person whirlpool suites. There is a commercial kitchen which handles catering and coordination for weddings, meetings and retreats. There is a Class C Liquor License and SDM License that is available for an additional price of $150K.

This unique B&B retreat is being offered in several configurations. The 3 buildings (including the B&B furnishings and business) are being offered at $1.15 Million, which includes 5.7 acres overlooking Budd Lake. The remaining 121.3 wooded acres, which includes some road frontage, are being offered separately at $ 1.2 Million.

The off-site, inn general manager is no longer interested in managing the inn & the B&B was closed in April. The out-of-state corporate ownership is motivated to transfer stewardship of the Carriage House Inn B&B. They are willing to assist a B&B buyer, with a minimum of a $150K downpayment, in the financing process.
